Common questions about Safaricom
For prepaid line assistance, dial 100 toll-free from your Safaricom mobile device. Postpaid users can call 200 (or +254 722 002 200 when calling from outside Kenya), while Home Fibre customers can dial 400. If you receive a call claiming to be from Safaricom that does not come from 0722 000 000, hang up immediately as it is an unverified or fraudulent caller.
If you accidentally send money to an incorrect phone number, immediately forward the full M-PESA transaction confirmation message to shortcode 2580 (free of charge). You can also initiate an automated reversal inside the M-PESA App under Transact > Reverse. Safaricom will place a temporary hold on the funds and contact the recipient. If the recipient refuses or Safaricom delays the reversal, post your dispute details on raiseacomplaint.com to push for manual intervention.
First, turn off your Wi-Fi router, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on. If the Internet light remains off or red, dial 400 or use the USSD menu *400# from your registered mobile number to raise an automated technical repair ticket. If a field technician fails to show up or if outages persist without bill credit, outline your service interruption on raiseacomplaint.com.
Safaricom will never ask for your 4-digit M-PESA PIN, National ID number, or SMS verification codes over the phone. If a scammer attempts to trick you, report their phone number immediately by sending a free text message to shortcode 333. Furthermore, keep your line secured with a SIM card PIN to prevent unauthorized SIM swaps.
